The Love Mortlake team were out in force at the Mortlake Community Fair, chatting to local residents and encouraging people to have a say in the redevelopment of the 21 acre brewery site.
A steady stream of people stopped by to discuss the redevelopments plans through the afternoon, many of them signing up for news updates and following Love Mortlake on social media.
The Love Mortlake gazebo was a popular spot at the Mortlake Community Fair.
“We had a great response from the community,” said Francine Bates, Secretary of the Mortlake Brewery Community Group. “All together I think we we spoke to over 100 people.
“Most were supportive of the redevelopment of the site, but are worried about how big it will be, and the impact it is likely to have on green spaces, traffic congestion and the level crossing on Sheen Lane.
“People are also keen to know when key decisions will be made. I hope the Love Mortlake website will become a really useful source of information about the planning process and help the community to know what is happening next.”
Love Mortlake T-shirts, stickers and a delicious cake made by Saime Tanzi all helped raise much-needed funds for the campaign.
